Dear Pat

Thank you very much for the lovely card which I received today. I was very pleased to hear from you as I was wondering how you were getting on. I wouldn't have noticed the letter you wrote inside the card but Rosalind was examining the card which "Uncle Pat sent, and opened it up, and then I noticed the writing inside.
I am glad to hear that you are stationed so near home, so that you can get home quite often. I have a friend who is going to Fredricton. We are all very anxious to get over there. I had high hopes of being in Canada for the end of January, but I read in tonight's paper that the boats won't be ready for us until the end of February, and am

feeling very disappointed over it, but still hoping that I may be lucky and get away before then. Yes Pat we have certainly had a long long wait to get to Canada, and I am longing to be there. I wrote to you in England when I received Rosalind's birthday card, but the letter was returned as you had gone to Canada I guess you mistook the date of her birthday Pat, as she was two years old in Nov. 10th, but thanks for it just the same. It was very welcomed.
Eddy hadn't been very well the last letter I had. He had a boil on his right arm and it was very painful, but it was improving, so I do hope he has quite recovered now. He has a nice job with the Dept. of National Revenue in Montreal. He also goes to night school at McGill University studying accountancy. He has to do that for his job, so that he can qualify for a rise. He likes

it very much and finds it interesting. But he is longing to get us out there more than ever. His address is: -Mr. E. Pallot
718 Greene Avenue,
Montreal (30), Quebec.
He will be very pleased to hear from you.
We had Mr. Johnstone and John down for a couple of weeks holiday about a month ago. They are well, and Ms Johnstone is expecting her husband home demobbed, very soon. McSheerer & McBrindle are still their usual selves. Flora is still waiting patiently to go to Canada. Youwill know who I mean Pat, I can't remember her married name. She has two children, Shirley is the girl's name. I remember she was a friend of yours. I get all the news of Beauly from Ms Johnstone.
Rosalind is getting a big girl. I wish you could see her now, but never mind you will

when we all meet again in Canada. She is a real chatterbox, and is always talking. She has a lot of Scotch sayings. She is very sweet now, and was very tickled with your xmas card. She showed it to everybody, and told them all that she got it from "Uncle Pat" in her own cute way, bless her.
I hope you had a nice xmas, but had no doubt that you had, being home after so many years away. We had a very quiet xmas here, and were wishing we could have been in Canada for it.
Well Pat I will close now and get off to bed. Hoping this finds you and your fmaily in the very best of health, and wishing you a very prosperous and happy year in 1946.
Lots of love and Kisses
from Rosalind to "Uncle Pat"
Margaret
P.S Hope to see you when we get to Canada
