As promised on my Xmas Card here is the letter.
Firstly let me wish you and all your family a very happy 1946 with the hope that it has nothing but the best in store for you.
I am once again a full fledged civilian and apart from missing Margaret and Rosalind very much enjoy the life.
I am working with the Government still in the Income Tax Department and struck it lucky in landing such a good job. It is just the type of work I like and in a few years should pay a fair salary.

As you no doubt can imagine being away from Margaret so long is depressing but then many more fellows have been apart from their loved ones longer including you. I am hoping to see her in late January or early February and will be so excited when she is finally on her way I am afraid I will be unable to do much work.
Margaret never fails to ask if I have heard from you in all of her letters so I am trusting you will drop me a few lines so that I can tell her I have heard from you.
I had a letter from Ted Godfrey last month and he is doing very well in Vancouver. He is back at the Post Office

and enjoying the change of being away from Colder for which I can't say I blame him much.
Things around Montreal are just about the same the only great change being the new C.NR station which is really beautiful. As big as it is though I still find it hard to find anything to do and spend most of my time at home or take in the occaisonal show.
I seem to be running out of words so will close hoping you are in good health and that I will be hearing from you soon.
Your Old friend
Eddie
