Dear Mom:

Its been almost a week since I last wrote you and my reason for writing you this time is because I have a few pictures I want to send you. They aren't very good because it was a dark day. I'm having some photos taken at the photographers and if they are all right I'll send you one. It costs about four dollars for a large photo and six smaller ones. They seem to do very good work in this country what what I've seen so far but of course as everywhere their best work would be put in the show window. When I first got here souvenirs were and still are plentiful but the prices seem to go higher every day. The only

thing that hasn't gone up was the liquor and there was no need for that because it is high priced enough as it is. The liquor they sell here is mostly cognac, champagne and wine. The beer is a total failure as an alcoholic beverage. Apple cider is strong in comparison. Every second house is a tavern and the odd ones are hotels or stores where liquor can be bought. Our mail is quite a failure especially Canadian mail. I've had two from you, one from Lucy and one from Fanny in the last month and a half. Papa has written twice since I've been on this side of the channel. I haven't run into anyone yet from around home. I did write to Jimmy Garrett, Fanny' brother

but my letter must have been lost for there has been no answer from him as yet. It still hasn't rained yet at least nothing worth talking about. But the wind, boy it blows all day and all night day after day. I'm getting a good wind burn. The weather is warm though compared to what you will be getting at this time of the year. I've just been listening to the Canadian News. We hear it every night, broadcasted by Jerry Wilmot. Im darned if I can't think of anything else to write about so I'll say goodnight. Love to everyone. Get Jimmy Garrett's address for me because I've lost it.
Love
Bunny.
