This is just a short note as I want to be sure it reaches you. I think these airletters go all right. At any rate I hope this one will as I want you to know how much we all appreciate your goodness of heart in sending such lovely gifts to us in Pats parcel It is really far too kind of you. William was along seeing Pat he may come home a few days before & when Pat came half day he said I am going to see Pat as I ???? again on Monday. The roads were in such a state of ice so he warned Pat not to come. These young folk can stick on. I can tell you William was very proud coming home with his parcel. He says here’s a parcel Pat got for you Mom hurry up & open it. I can assure you we all got a lovely surprise so all I can say is thanks very much & maybe some day I can get you some thing in return. Pat ?? tell you of the snow we had & frost too. I can’t say I love that weather I was frozen & couldn’t work. Of course our houses are not made to ?? such frost & are had such a job keeping potatoes etc. I felt everything was by the kitchen fire & last week I had a fine cleaning up fires in the rooms make such a mess especially with the coal we get now. Pat was here on Sat. He had had a cold but was better & in good form. He left his bike as the lights were bad & took Dons & tonight Don is along with Pats so I said when he went away I’ll see you tomorrow so I will say when he comes I am so pleased James is still in his country I must write him tonight. I can hardly realise he is over a year across now. I got a lovely surprise to have your lovely Valentine on Mon last 12th. So it was well timed as this is the day I also had your xmas cards. I do feel for you dear Mrs Hennessy with all your dear boys away fancy Brunow now. They are quite happy ?? . However things look good now & please God the end is not far off. William is away as I said right on the shores of the Atlantic in Sutherland Shire but we expect him home on Sat. Simon & I are alone tonight. He has finished his lessons & now nursing his cats. Bobby will be ?? after you now. Hope the baby is well also Patty anne. My space is used up so with much love to all yours ??
