Hello Pat:-

Just rec’c your welcome letter a few days ago. Was very glad to hear from you, but sorry to see you are in hospital. Hope it is nothing serious.
Yes I am a “married man” now. It happened last 29th April. Will soon be a year now. I am fine. Am still as fat as when at Balblair. We had good times there just the same eh? I had a good time over in Germany and Belgium too. Am glad now that I went over to Europe.
I sent Eddie & wife a Xmas card but did not hear from them. Glad to hear Margaret likes Montreal. She was a nice person. They make a nice couple. And your little God-child is very nice too.
I am scaling for a Mr. Edgar Boyle, he is a big contractor here. I measure logs. Am home every night. Always on farmers lots. Ted Rainboth knows Edgar well. Did you see Ted lately?

Yes I miss that “9 days Leave” every 3 months. Don’t you? Do you expect to be in hospital long Pat? I hope not. I am sending this there. I forget your home address.
I wonder what old Col. Gardener is doing now. Maybe making shingles with a draw knife Ha! Ha! I think Eddie Villeneuve is still in Army in Ottawa. Remember how you used to “tease” him. He would believe anything.
Well all the world is sure in a turmoil yet. The prices are sure high eh? And lots of “Black Market” on sugar etc.
Well Pat I will have to say bye bye for now, hoping to hear from you again, & that you get out of hospital very soon.

Best regards
From – your friend,
Charlie.
C.J. Keegan.
